Frank blair, mpa
In 1982 Mr. Blair founded IEG Venture Management, an entrepreneurial venture capital firm located in Chicago that specializes in technology-based startups in the Midwest. While managing IEG, Mr. Blair worked as the President and CEO and later as the Chairman and CEO of Pride-Tech. Pride-Tech was a 30 person software company that developed, marketed, customized and supported software solutions for administration processing for life and health insurance companies. Previously, Mr. Blair worked for the Environmental Protection Agency as their Chief of Staff for the Deputy Administration, and had the responsibility of overseeing the 10,000 person, $6 billion organization. During this time, he also served as the Assistant to James Schlesinger, Secretary of the Department, where he guided agreements among 30 agencies, the White House and the public on a $800 million alternative energy program. Thereafter, Mr. Blair worked at the Heizer Corporation as their Treasurer and Vice President of Business Development for energy, environmental and aerospace/defense deals. Mr. Blair received a BA in Political Science and Economics from Yale University. After graduation from Yale, Mr. Blair served as a single seat carrier fighter pilot in the U.S. Navy, flying low level reconnaissance in Vietnam, and also served as a Maintenance Officer for a 35 man Division. Once he completed his service in the Navy, Mr. Blair obtained his MPA in Decision Analysis from Harvard University, Kennedy School of Government.
JOEL B. BRAUNSTEIN, MD, MBA
Dr. Braunstein is a board-certified cardiologist and internist, and co-founder and Managing Director of LifeTech Research (LTR), established in 2003 for the purpose of providing technical and market due-diligence research services to institutional investors and emerging companies. Dr. Braunstein has played a key operational role in the start-up of numerous life sciences companies. He currently sits on five corporate boards: C2N Diagnostics, an Alzheimer’s diagnostics / biomarker company; Centegen, Inc, a therapeutics company developing novel agents against drug-resistant staphylococci; NexGen Medical Systems and Correx, device companies each developing minimally-invasive surgical and vascular interventional devices; and Tivorsan Pharmaceuticals, a biologics company developing a recombinant protein for a serious genetic disorder.
Dr. Braunstein received his M.D. with highest distinction from Northwestern University Medical School in 1996. Subsequently, he trained in internal medicine at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School until 1999, and as a Fellow in Cardiovascular Medicine and Robert Wood Johnson National Clinical Scholar at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions. Additionally, he completed an M.B.A. with management focus in 2004 and maintained an Assistant Professor cardiology faculty position at Johns Hopkins University. He remains an advisor to the Johns Hopkins Carey School of Business, and is a Distinguished Alumnus of the University. In addition to his various management responsibilities, Dr. Braunstein currently maintains an Adjunct Assistant Professorship at the Yale Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CORE) and the Yale School of Medicine.
tIMOTHY DICKMAN, MBA
Timothy Dickman has 35 years experience in the healthcare industry. He most recently served as the President and CEO of Prime Therapeutics, a pharmacy benefit management company providing services to 16 million commercial members and one million Medicare members. During his 7 year tenure at Prime, Mr. Dickman increased revenues from $30 million to $1.7 billion. He expanded services offerings to include mail order/home delivery of prescriptions and specialty drug distribution and expanded customer segments to include one million covered members in Medicare Part D and entered more direct employer space. He also successfully recapitalized the company with a $100 million private placement. Previously, Mr. Dickman worked at Tillinghast-Towers Perrin as a Pharmacy Leader. During this time, he worked with large domestic and international Fortune 500 companies on pharmacy benefits, pharmacy management, drug formulary strategy and development and business process. Mr. Dickman also worked as a senior executive at Travelers and other managed health companies. Mr. Dickman earned his BS in Pharmacy from Purdue University and his MBA from the University of Chicago. He has served on the boards of PCMA, American Associates of PPOs and American Managed Health Care Association.
GABRIELE G. NIEDERAUER, PH.D.
Dr. Niederauer has more than 20 years of experience in the study, development, and commercialization of biomaterials for orthopedic, dental, and ENT tissue repair. She currently serves as the Vice President of Research and Development for ENTrigue Surgical, Inc. Previously she served as Vice President of Research and Development at C2M Medical and as Director of Research and Development at Osteobilogics, Inc. Her responsibilities also include coordination and management of experimental, preclinical, and clinical studies, and the planning and submission of regulatory filings. Dr. Niederauer completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Orthopaedic Biomechanics Laboratory at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biomedical Engineering from Iowa State University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Ceramic Engineering from Clemson University. Dr. Niederauer is widely published and is a co-inventor of nine patents and seven applications for devices and methods used in surgical procedures and tissue engineering.
L. PETER SMITH, MBA
Peter Smith has over 30 years of senior management and board level experience. He was the founder and CEO of Medmark, Inc., one of the nation’s leading pharmaceutical distribution companies that was successfully sold to Walgreen Co. in 2006. He also was the founder and Chief Executive Officer of CorSolutions Medical, Inc., a leading disease management company that was sold to Matria Healthcare in 2005. Previously, Mr. Smith worked for 11 years with Baxter International, Inc. as President of Caremark, Inc., a $7 billion healthcare company with a $450 million homecare subsidiary. He has also served as President of Travacare Division and COO of Japan Travenol Ttd. Mr. Smith earned his BA from Princeton University and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He currently serves on the board for several companies, including, Matrix, Amsys, Inc., and EO2 Concepts. |
